Stock Ghyll Force and Wansfell Pike

Distance: 5.4 km | Ascent: 423m | Wansfell Pike (452m)

In August I decided that with lockdown ended I would just ramp up my return to the fells. So booked a week in a beautiful cottage and planned my walks.

The aim of the day was to walk up to Stock Ghyll Force in Ambleside, with a vague idea of seeing if I was fit enough to ascend Wansfell Pike (482m). And I would try and think about filming so I can continue my journey of learning how to produce decent video content. My expectation was to walk to get to the small wooded area around GR: NY 38943 04243, just before the hill starts to get very steep) and enjoy a cup of Earl Grey. But I was feeling good so continued the ascent. And I am glad I did.

I was knackered, but the feeling of accomplishment was immense.

This video shows I am very much still learning how to film! After showing this prior to publication on YouTube I was lucky enough to have someone reach out to me and give some very valuable advice on filming and video construction. Thank you.
